Jeffrey Friedman is an Independent Trustee of Peakstone Realty Trust.
Jeff is the founder of Moreton Bay Capital, which was formed in 2024 to create and grow platforms in real asset sectors benefiting from long-term secular tailwinds. Jeff was formerly co-Chief Executive Officer and then a Senior Advisor at Mesa West Capital, a private equity styled real estate investment firm that he co‑founded in 2004 and sold to an affiliate of Morgan Stanley. Prior to co‑founding Mesa West, Jeff was a principal at Maguire Partners, in charge of capital market activities from May 2000 to shortly after the firm’s $798 million IPO in June 2023. He began his career as a corporate lawyer at Hashidate Law Office in Tokyo and Simpson Thacher & Barlett LLP in New York before transitioning into real estate finance in 1994, where he worked at an affiliate of Nomura Securities and subsequently Credit Suisse.
Jeff has a J.D. and M.A. in Applied Economics from the University of Michigan and a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. Jeff recently co-founded Project Awareness for the Mortgage Bankers Association in conjunction with the Pension Real Estate Association and is an advisor to the newly created Master’s in Real Estate Development program at the University of California, Los Angeles.
